Hello, everyone. Today I am welcoming my lovely friends and colleague, Lauren l'amour to the show. She is a success coach, a lifelong entrepreneur, and an expert in law of attraction. So I am so excited for our conversation. Thank you so much for joining us today, Lauren. Hi, Christine, thank you so much for having me. It's wonderful to be with you. Thank you so much. So let's start. There's so many things we can talk about together, let's start with how you got to be involved in this kind of work and coaching people and using law of attraction as a basis for your work.

Lauren L'Amour:

Okay, gosh, just taking me back over 20 years ago, one of the first things I did in my career as a real estate developer. And although we were doing fairly well, I was completely miserable. It's just put it that way, 80 hours a week, and you know, not even having any time to spend the money we're making. And it was at that time I was at a seminar and for another company that I was getting involved with. And I met Bob Proctor, who is from the secret the movie, the secret that some of your listeners might be familiar with. At that time, the secret wasn't out. And no one really knew who Bob Proctor was. But we it turned out, we ended up working for the same company. And he was doing some trainings with some of his friends who some of the listeners might know as well now, but back then nobody really knew who they were. In fact, I didn't even know what they were talking about. All I knew was that I was miserable. They were not they were very happy, positive, you know, talking about you get to decide what your life looks like, you can co create a term that I didn't understand at the time, your life in a way that works for you that you get to be happy every day and enjoy it. And your success will be defined by you and not, you know, some external means or person or programming, frankly. And so that was sort of my early, early introduction. And I remember sitting in the audience saying, you know, I don't know what it's going to take, but I need to get out of where I am and into where they are. And you know, whatever that looks like I had no idea. But that was sort of my beginning. And I laugh about it now talking about being in the right place at the right time. I mean, literally for like $10 and a lunch. We were being trained by these masters. And what then became the secret. So that was sort of my early introduction. And I wound up that business and had my children along the way. I ended up getting my master's in psychology that was sort of my first step. I said, let me see if this is where we want to take this. But eventually I ended up getting certified as a coach and it was a way that allowed me to put my business entrepreneurial experience which I love. You know, I come from two entrepreneurs. I'm a lifelong entrepreneur. I mean, I love working with them, you know, I get them we are definitely a different breed. So we think differently, act differently and etc. So eventually I put all that together and around that same time, I also started on my spiritual journey. And I think the introduction to the law of attraction really prompted me to go there. So I put all of that together and created my own unique coaching program to help people introduce them to this. We weren't even calling it the law of attraction back then, really. But I was teaching them how to do vision boards and getting them introduced to the idea that, you know, you get to decide, like I said, and getting them excited about their lives again, which was the most fun for me. And then from there, the secret came out. And that just turned everything around. And I would say, this is what I'm talking about. These are the people and so on, so forth, and then eventually went on can get certified with Bob Proctor and Mike Dooley, and I've worked with them in different capacities along the way. So that's sort of the long and short of it. And here we are today.

Christine Li:

Wonderful, thank you. You remind me that you introduced me to Mike Dooley, his work, that TNT notes for our listeners, Mike Dooley as someone who will email you with notes from the universe. And Lauren told me about those notes many years ago, and I've enjoyed them ever since. So thank you for that. Before we move on into learning more about how you coach and how you use your thoughts about law of attraction with your clients, I'm still curious about that. part of you that was not happy that time in your life, when you were miserable. Can you share with us what was going on, perhaps with your mindset, or with how things were structured in your life that kept you thinking, I need to get out of this spot that things aren't really the way I need them to be right?

Lauren L'Amour:

You know, until I met Bob and started learning or just being introduced to the idea that I get to decide, my entire life was based on what my parents had told me how they had done things, what society was telling me I should do and how I should work and where I should go and what I should study. I remember, I have a undergraduate degree in economics, which I enjoyed. But how I chose that, you know, sitting with my father on the table, and he said, I think you should study economics, I said, half knowing what it was okay. And that was how I chose a major and got a degree in it. So it was just that's how I lived my life. It was sort of, Okay, sounds good. I'll do it. You know, it wasn't about fulfillment, it wasn't about happiness, it was about success, really externally determined success. There was no discussion about what makes you happy it was how are you going to make the most money? and so on, so forth. So in my mind back then I was always thinking, How can I make enough money so I can be a stay at home mother, that was always my goal. Because I was raised by a single mom, who was an entrepreneur and out of the house a lot. And so I said, you know, maybe I can re engineer that. But that was about as far as I was thinking, in terms of, you know, what works for me, it really wasn't even. I mean, it sounds so silly now when I think about it. But I know I'm not the only one because I encounter it a lot with clients now, and that they are just really stuck in that I have no idea why I made those decisions. I have no idea why I'm in this profession. It followed on my degree, my mother wanted me to do it. You know, these are the kinds of things that I'll hear.

Christine Li:

Yeah, I think one of the problems you're making me think is that we don't see all the options, right, that we're not trained to be open to all the options, including the ones that we don't even know about in the moment. And I'm so glad that universe took you to that $10 luncheon so that you could have your natural openness be wide open. Again. Yeah. Which is great. You and me both. The two of us, yes, I found this secret because my aunt, I would spend a lot of time with her over the summer. And she kept saying you need to read this book, you need to read this book. And one summer I was particularly bored and I read the book and I finally understood what she was getting at. The Secret really is a life changing type of resource where it blows open your ideas about how you talk to yourself and how you see the opportunities in front of you. So listeners, if any of you have not picked up the book, Lauren and I strongly recommend that it's your next piece of reading. Absolutely a must read. Okay, so can you tell us about your process, the process that you take your clients through?

Lauren L'Amour:

It's very simple, really, we spend some time getting crystal clear about who they are. And then crystal clear about what they want. And then we develop a strategy to help them move in that direction. And it's a simple process. But it does take some time, especially for somebody say, they're 4045 years old, and they have lived their life like I was living based on one set of beliefs that this is how the world operates. And this is how I am in it. So you know, oftentimes, it does take some because you can't and I mean, just to back up a little bit, it's hard to tell what you want, if you don't know who you are. And so they think, Well, why what do you want? Well, why I have no idea is oftentimes, it's just what I think I'm supposed to be doing. So the process is simple, but it does take a little bit of time. And along the way, we're, the self limiting beliefs will start to pop up, and we're working with those and mining them and then removing them and rewiring them as we go. You know, that's pretty much the process in a nutshell.

Christine Li:

I like what you said that if you don't know who you are, you don't really know what you're going to be aiming for. And it makes me think that when you don't know who you are, that you're vulnerable to feeling like you don't have what it takes. And that you'll never be good enough to actually achieve the things that might be glimmers in your mind or in your heart. So thank you for outlining that for us. I'm curious, how do you help people to get the courage to outline what they really want? How do you get people to emerge from that darker place inside.

Lauren L'Amour:

One of my tag lines used to be I get people excited for a living. Once you start reintroducing them to themselves, it's a natural connection and relationship. And they start to get excited, you know, they start to feel that life rise within them for another way to put it. And they start to get excited. It's like oh, my gosh, I haven't dreamt like this before. I haven't thought big like this, since high school maybe is actually a common thing that I hear. And it feels really good. And there's something inside of me, that's waking up, this is resonating with me. And there's a reason for it. It's because it is their life's purpose. And you know, I always like to tell people, you all have a life purpose. And you also have the tools to bring it to life. That's spiritual law. And so there's a part of you that I know will understand and hear this as we go through the process. And so usually they get, they start to get excited. And there's sort of almost like a re remembering that occurs. So that is a very powerful energy. So we talk about courage. It's like an awakening its power. And we practice getting comfortable being in that energy. And then the reason we have them strategize every week, they're actually taking practical steps towards their bigger vision. And they could be small, even just doing research. They start to experience over time, the reality of this unfolding, which just goes to serve their confidence and their courage even more. So they're getting instant feedback in a way, like oh, okay, this actually is working. And when you do that the law of attraction really kicks in to so like I always say, doors start flying open, Windows start flying open, people show up, hey, I have the perfect job for you, which happens more often than not when we start working this way?

Christine Li:

Yes, I agree, I will back you up 100%. Because I see that in my clients. And in my own life, when you start actually envisioning things happening the way that you would like, and in your favor. I love the doors and windows playing opening events. That kind of thing does happen where the person who has the right connection somehow comes on your screen somehow or that these connections get suggested to you and you start to enjoy the flow and the power and the energy. Again. So I love also what you said about re remembering your own power and that energy of creating and doing and being so thank you so much for speaking this to life. so beautifully. So you're making me think about affluence and income, and people's ideas about money, money, his role in the law of attraction and in success, and people's funny ideas or limiting beliefs about money. I know long ago when we first met, you had a program that you were offering about teaching people how to live with an attitude of affluence. Could you talk to us about that?

Lauren L'Amour:

Sure. I love working with money with people, because it's an automatic feedback, you would get feedback very quickly with money. And it's very tangible. But it's energy, just like anything else that we're working with, with regard to the law of attraction. And so I like to start there. It's also where most people have their blocks. There's a lot of programming that we get around society, from our families, from difficult situations in our lives, we make up decisions that oh, I failed once this is it, you know, some of the mindset that might come up, that I failed once, I'm not supposed to do that. That's the story that I make up about that. So these self limiting beliefs can turn into self limiting stories, and they take on a life of their own oftentimes. So the part of that program is helping them first identify them, because a lot of them end up in our subconscious, which we're not aware of. And about things, they estimate 90 to 95% of our lives are being run by our subconscious. So, you know, I help them identify them. And then we slowly and methodically begin to rewire them. And typically, in very short order, they will start to see the manifestations of their work. And that's why I like working with money and finances, because it's easy to get a check in the mail and unexpected check in the mail, as Rhonda burns likes to say, from the secret, you know, it's like, oh, my gosh, you know, how did that happen? And then you get something else happens, somebody offers you the job that you never thought you would get? How did that happen? You know, and after one after another after another, you start to build your courage muscles to continue the process. And also your belief muscles that, okay, there's something to this, and I deserve it.

Christine Li:

Yes, you're also making me think now that our power of disbelief is really strong. That really your coaching I would imagine, is just supporting people as they let the power of disbelief diminish, yeah. So that they are taking steps to live the life that they're craving and desiring and know that they want, while also keeping their eyes open and their heart open, that this is possible for me. And Lauren's telling me that it's happening, I'm getting the money, I'm getting the opportunities, I'm getting the freedom to pursue the dreams that I have, right?

Lauren L'Amour:

That's exactly what happens. And it does take support because you're putting yourself in a vulnerable position. And especially if you're surrounded by people who don't believe in this sort of thought process or living, they're gonna think you're a little nuts if you start to sweat. I've had lots of examples of that. And that's usually one of the instructions, why don't we just wait. You know, we get further down the road before you start talking about this to people who don't understand because it can shut them down pretty quickly. But it helps to have somebody in their corner, as you say, to support them through the process, when they do have these sort of doubts that come up as they do. And to just reassure them. I mean, the benefit of having also been doing this work for over 20 years as I have so many of my own manifesting stories that allow me to just reassure them, but I have my own, but I also have my clients and so there's just been so many at this point, even for myself with regard to doubt. Of course, I'm human and I always have my doubts that pop up but they are far and few between now because I've just seen so many things been manifested in ways that just this beyond beyond the beyond really.

Christine Li:

Okay, so then I'm going to have to ask you to share, could you share one from your personal life and one from perhaps one of your clients?

Lauren L'Amour:

Sure. Oh, let's see. One from my personal fun one is I manifested a five star vacation to China for $150. Like that's pretty good. And it was at a time when so that's one you know, and there was a variety, I think get it. It's a longer story. And I don't know how much time we have. But how I did that. But um, you know, it was,

Christine Li:

please tell us, let us know. I'm curious.

Lauren L'Amour:

I mean, a vision board was involved intuition. Yeah, I'm highly intuitive as well. So I get a lot of downloads and information in that regard. So meditations, things were popping in, what happened was, I got an idea, a friend of mine lived there. And I had a sense that he was leaving. And I said, I don't know why, but I think I'm supposed to visit you in China this year. That's how it all started. And I'm like, Well, whatever, if it's meant to be the big piece around this work to just share, this is letting go of the attachment. This is a big problem with you know, people get attached to it. And now I have to force it and make it work, I can tell you right now, it never works. When we start to do that. If you get the idea, this sounds great. Let go of the attachment, do some of the things that they talk about on the surface, you know, the secret, make a vision board, put your order in, as Abraham likes to say, and just let go and enjoy your life, raise your vibration, or work vertically, as we like to say, and that means we're raising our vibration, just by raising your vibration and doing things that make you happy, you're gonna put yourself in a much better place to attract these things that are really aligned with your life's purpose. So that's just a little aside. There. But so anyways, I contacted him, and he's of the same ilk. And so we're like, well, if it's meant to be, it'll be about three weeks later. And he at that point, didn't even know if he'd be in town, because he travels a lot, globally. So it's sort of like, you know, we'll see if we can line this up, which would be a miracle in and of itself. About two weeks later, a friend of mine who is a business partner of a very successful speaker and author called and said, Hey, he just bought just got booked for China. He's never been to China. And I was just a conversation just to share the good news. I said, Oh, that's great. That's wonderful. She also was a qigong master. And I said, Well, you need to stay in travel. And I'll connect you with my friend Mark, while he's over there, he'll show you around. He knows everybody in Beijing. Anyway, about three days later, she says Bob wants to pay for you to come so that you and I can travel because Bob doesn't like to travel. So you and I can go and see mark in Beijing afterwards. And so I'm like, okay, so anyway, it all worked out, Mark ended up being in town hosted us and this five star hotel with, you know, all of the tourists and the bells and whistles, and so on, so forth. So, and the bonus there was, I was able to assist and see all the behind workings of my friend's business as a very, you know, he said, the top and of public speaking, and publishing. And so I was able to see what that looks like, as someone of that caliber travels, first of all internationally, has to do all of the interpretations. They had five different interpreters. He had to deal with all that, but I got to see, I mean, people would have paid $20,000 just to witness what I witnessed, but I got to enjoy it by the 150 bucks. So

Christine Li:

I love that story. I love that story. Life memories. Yeah. So you'll never, ever forget. Nice, wonderful. Could you share a success story of one of your clients?

Lauren L'Amour:

Okay, this is a simple one. This is about an apartment hunting. And I know in the northeast, this has become quite an issue. So as of late, and I know, the real estate market is very hot right now. And it's difficult for people to find a space that's really sort of fitting them I know a lot of people are moving here in Boston anyway, from the suburbs back into the city to start working again. And they're having some difficulty finding just the right spot. So this is a little story about that. My client knew she wanted to live in a particular area. And so she took a map out, and we're always talking about, you know, walk in the area, get yourself in the physical space, if at all possible, or as close to it as you can. So that's what she did. She walked the area, she got a map, she actually circled the area and put an arrow on the maps to you know, sort of like the neighborhood that you wanted to move into. She had discovered a couple, but there wasn't anything available. About a week later, she was walking again. There's a sign up for rent had just gone in. She went in. Long story short, she got the apartment, she looked back on the map and the apartment was exactly at the point in the era. So anyway, just some little examples of how these I love these stories.

Christine Li:

Yeah, these stories tend to send an energy shock through the body for me. Because part of me knows, yeah, that's how things happen, that there's this, this unknowable, unspeakable thing that happens that we need to connect to, that's what we need to connect to is believing that there are other things at work trying to help us out. And I think it's very easy to not believe that kind of thing. But then you hear these stories, and you hear them not just from coaches like you, but you see them in the news, and you see them even in your own life. So time, I think we're just on the show today that encourage our listeners to keep your eyes and heart open for the things that you sometimes have doubted. Because if you're thinking about it, it's likely it's for a reason.

Lauren L'Amour:

right? Yeah, absolutely. I think also, it's good for people to remember that this is all working out in your favor to help you live out your life's purpose, or your soul's path, as I like to say it. And so these things are really helping you to serve in that way. So if you decide you want something, and it's not happening right away, there's a lot of blocks a lot of blocks, and it's just not working and you find yourself pushing, what I recommend is to just, you know, take a breath, take a step back, remember, you know, this is for your highest and best, and sort of ask the universe, this or something better, it just opens up the space that you know, because we we in our heads may be limited in terms of what we really want. But it's a good start, you start moving in that direction. But if you keep hitting roadblocks, you know, take a breath, remember that this, the universe is serving you to help you live out your life's purpose, and then just add that little piece on there, this or something better, it just opens up the flow a little bit and allows you because sometimes we try to force it, you know, we try to force it, make it work, and we get in the way of the magic really unfolding. So just like to remind people of that.

Christine Li:

I love it. I love it. Thank you for all the lessons you've shared with us today. I want to ask one more question before we really wrap up. And that is, given where you were, during those real estate years. And comparing that to how you feel now about your life? How would you describe the journey that you've taken?

Lauren L'Amour:

Hmm, great question. It's been a heck of a journey, I'll tell you that. I feel I don't almost don't even relate to that person any longer. Because I've shifted so much from my perspective, then my life is lived from the inside out, you know, versus the outside in. It's just completely opposite. And through the years doing this work, I've just been practicing trusting, trusting, you know, surrendering to the process and continue to move through it. And with it and co creating as I go, I'm just I've never been happier and more fulfilled and satisfied. And you know, I mean, really, what is the true definition of success? To me, it's that

Christine Li:

I love I thank you for sharing that. I think there was a reason why I asked that question. And sometimes when we're stuck, we can't envision where we could be. But then when you get there, you can't really imagine yourself ever being back where you were. So thank you for bringing your light onto this show and your wisdom and for really again, sharing all these micro lessons. Throughout the episode. I think this episode is one that I'm going to replay and learn from again. So thank you again for coming on the show.
